Engaging Projects

Projects done by students, at our Learning Nooks that help them understand basic concepts of STEM, and also give them the key skills to collaborate, communicated, be creative about their solution and use critical thinking to solve problems using limited resources available to them. While there are projects that help them understand basic concepts of school homework, we dont' cover those here in the Engaging Projects list (such as building a model of a human heart, building a 3d model of a human cell etc)

Report August 2022

We complted 3 Months of operations of our First Learning Nook, Located at Jaitpur, New Delhi. Over the last 90 days of operations, we have trained nearly 30 ~ 40 students each month, and adding more members. At times we have had to turn students back, as we can not acommodate more than 10 children in a single classroom session, with our current limitations.

In the Month of July, we saw students donate to the cause, by sharing from their pocket money and raising local funds. This trend cotinued through August, and we saw another batch of children donors, who are taking leadership positions to ensure that we can train more children.

We were also visited by The Rotary Club of Indraprastha Okhla, New Delhi and got an encouraging response from them about the work we are doing. The Rotary club not only doanted money, but also donated Notebooks, Pencils, and Sanitary Napkins for our Students.

We also successfully launched Subscription based donations, that allow us to sign up donors on a month on month auto-subscribe model. Our payment gateway provider Razorpay enabled this, and has allowed us to get some of our donors to convert to monthly donations, adding value to the cause of Educated, Self Reliant India

Over the past 3 Months of operations, we have held classes in Tinker Cad (3D Visualisation and Design), 3D Printing, Basic Electornics, Robotics, and Internet of Things allowing our Students to work on the 4C's of 21st Century Skills. It was an amazing experience seeing the children explain their projects, and their learning on the visit by the Rotary Club of Indraprastha Okhla.

Current & Future Outlook

  • Encouraging response to classes, has prompted us to expand operations
  • Our plans are either to expand the space in Jaitpur, or Add the Second Nook
  • Over Quarter 4 of Calendar Year 2022, we are now looking at expanding our Nooks
  • Fundraise was slow in August, and we are now looking at full time fund raising team members
  • MakersBox Foundation is looking for connects with CSR, Corporate, and Philanthropists for raising funds, and is seeking help

Fund Flow Statement

  • At the end of August, we have cash that allows for operations of September, and October, but we need to raise money for the next few months
